DJANBAZIAN DANCE COMPANY WINS TWO AWARDS AT
THE GRAND PRIX ITALIA, 2005
On June 26th at the closing ceremonies of " Dance Grand Prix Italia
2005” in Cesena, Djanbazian Dance Company students Arsineh Ananian,
Ani Grigorian, Narineh Ghazarians and Anna Daibyan received the
third prize trophy for " Girl Talk " in folk dance category and Ms.
Anna Djanbazian won in the choreography division.
The " Dance Grand Prix Italia 2005” recognized as "the biggest World
Dance Event in Europe" was held at the A. Bonci Theatre in Cesena,
Italy from June 22nd to 26th. Over 100 groups and 600 dancers from
Italy, Germany, Serbia and as far away as Brazil and Peru competed
for prizes in dance styles including Ballet, Modern, Contemporary,
Jazz, Hip Hop and Folk.
This year the Djanbazian Company participated in this competition
presenting three dances choreographed by Ms Anna Djanbazian:
"Devotee " (modern), "Three Muses-Garland of Melodies " (ballet),
"Girl Talk " (non-traditional folk dance)
Judges for the event included experts from the world of show
business, culture, press and media representatives from Europe. This
year, the President of the International Jury was Mrs. Marina Romani
from the Italian National Dance Academy. Also included in the Jury
were Mrs. Federica Zani and other members from "TEATRO ALLA SCALA"
of Milan.

The Competition
was held in the "A.Bonci"
theatre,
which was constructed between 1838-1846.
It is dedicated to the great tenor of Cesena
Alessandro Bonci. This theatre is considered
one of the most important monuments of art and music in Italy. |
