contemporary ballet theatre of “ ZAL & RUDABEH”, conceived and
directed by multiple award winning choreographer Anna Djanbazian,
divulges a timeless tale of forbidden romance, war, triumph &
transcendental power of love, based on an Epic story by the 11th
century Persian poet, Ferdowsi’s “ Shah-nameh” - the Book of
Kings.
The ballet of “ZAL & RUDABEH” inspired by the skills of vibrant
Persian storytelling, NAQQALI, showcases this historical fable,
weaved with live percussion, singing & poetry recitation, in both
Persian and English languages.
