The Academy’s Vision and Goals For more than sixty years, The Djanbazian Dance Academy has been dedicated to stimulating students’ imaginations as they experience the art of dance. One of the Academy’s responsibilities as an educational environment is to motivate young minds to appreciate the art of dance by exposing them to a wide range of possibilities in various forms of dance. DDA’s aim is to help students develop to their fullest potential by encouraging self-confidence and self-discipline. DDA firmly believes that healthy work habits help students lean all through their lifetime. About the Program DDA is dedicated to providing the community with the very finest training in Russian Ballet. Children as young as three years old can start classes in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet sessions. The program prepares the students starting from Basic all the way to The Advanced Pre-Professional level. The academy provides safe, nurturing and fun learning environments for children with an emphasis on the successful integration of body and mind The focus of the academy is to help each student explore his/her own creativity and self-expression. Later on, students are introduced to new curriculums such as Modern Dance and Folk Stage Dance. As part of DDA’s comprehensive educational program, opportunities are provided for students to learn about the history of dance through a variety of media forms such as readings in the field, special field trips to various dance concerts and observing and discussing different dance videotapes. Furthermore, students gain a greater knowledge and respect for dance as an art form as they are given opportunities to participate in different dance competitions, festivals, and other dance concerts and programs as guests, panel members, instructors, or interns. Overall, the students are encouraged to understand the art of dance in a cultural context and to develop a personal view for art in general. DDA is committed to helping all students grow as creative, disciplined, and positive human beings. Finally, DDA is dedicated to helping each student’s dream of becoming a great dancer come true.
